I’m overjoyed to be joining the Urban Adamah staff and greater Bay Area Jewish community! I am hailing from the Washington, D.C area where I spent many years as a 3rd grade teacher – teaching in both private and public schools – all subjects. In addition to my role as an educator, I was the elementary-aged working group leader for D.C Area Educators for Social Justice. As a teacher collective, we created actively anti-racist, anti-imperialist curricula for primary-aged students. Developing, and implementing, curriculum for young people is a deep passion of mine, which is why I’m so excited to be doing it for a Jewish organization that shares my belief in the deep-rooted intersection of Judaism and social justice: tzedek tzedek tirdof – justice, justice you shall pursue. While not on the farm, I enjoy reading, making process, not product, oriented art, watching silly reality TV shows, exploring our new city with my fiance, and snuggles with our dog, Bernie.
