Angel Cakes is a small-batch bakery for cupcakes, cakes, and other treats. What makes them different is their large menu of over 120 flavors, which keeps things interesting and allows them to use the freshest and most local ingredients available. Most cake flavors can be made vegan and gluten free. Before Jen Angel opened Angel Cakes in 2008, she worked as an independent media and community activist. Jen passed in February of 2023 and the bakery is now run with love by the team she trained. Angel Cakes is a small shop and strives to create an environment where everyone feels included, valued, and respected. They do their best to be good neighbors and community members by donating and providing desserts for various social justice efforts, particularly in the areas of environmental justice, housing, and criminal justice reform.

MitzvahStream offers a range of options from basic enhancements to your existing AV setup to full production packages. All packages include event hosting. Food & Beverage DETAILS
Client and vendor access to event space is limited to the occupancy times designated in the rental contract. Rental clients should provide their caterer with the designated rental times. Access will not be permitted outside of these times, unless as noted below for deliveries and pick-ups.
Pre or post event deliveries and pick-ups may be permitted, but require prior approval and coordination. All delivery vendors must check in with Urban Adamah upon arrival. Drop off and/or pick-up locations will be indicated at that time. All deliveries must be approved a minimum of two weeks prior to an event.
Alcohol may be consumed by guests age 21 and older. Those under 21 years of age are not permitted to consume or possess alcoholic beverages at any time. Valid, state-issued identification cards may be requested of any person(s) who appear to be under age and consuming alcohol during the event. Alcohol consumption must be confined to the venue space rented and must not be consumed outside the rented premises.
When using our Preferred Caterers, the caterer under its liquor license assumes responsibility for the guests being served. When using non-preferred caterers, the client is responsible for the guests being served. Caterers and clients must understand that, based on guests’ conduct, Urban Adamah may require that alcohol cease to be served at any point during an event and security or the police may be contacted if guests’ behavior threatens or endangers people or property.
If serving alcohol, Caterer/Client assumes responsibility for:
- Any and all guests that consume alcohol.
- Insuring that alcoholic beverages being served meet the requirements of their license.
- Insuring that the guests being served meet the requirements of the law.
- Ceasing the service of alcoholic beverages to those who are under age, or who appear to be impaired.
All food and beverage related items must be compostable, reusable, or recyclable.
All disposable products used must be approved by Urban Adamah as compatible with our waste management systems. Two product lines that Urban Adamah has identified as being compatible with City of Berkeley standards are below.
Reusable china, glassware, utensils, linens, and napkins are encouraged whenever possible.
Individually packaged items in plastic containers, including water, creams, and assorted condiments are prohibited.
Onsite compost, recycling, and trash facilities are provided at no charge.
All waste material must be collected and properly sorted with the intention of minimizing volume. In the event of miss-sorted bins, renter will be charged a $250 incorrect waste disposal fee.
Waste material in staging and service areas must be sorted and taken to the refuse station located beside pedestrian gate. All boxes must be broken down before being placed in the recycling container.
In event spaces, clear all items such as table linens, dishes, decorations, etc. All waste material should be sorted and disposed of properly in refuse station.
Caterer/Client is responsible for sweeping the kitchen at the end of the event. All utilized work surfaces, sinks, and drains must be thoroughly cleaned with client or caterer-provided cleaning supplies.
Clean-up and load-out must be completed by the end of the event’s designated time of occupancy. In the event that cleanup procedures are not followed, Preferred Caterers or rental clients using outside caterers, will be charged a $250 incomplete cleaning fee.
The kitchens at Urban Adamah are vegetarian, but kosher fish is permitted. No other meat is permitted in the kitchens.
