Hi, I’m Noam (they / them / theirs)! I am so excited to be joining Urban Adamah’s Young Adult Programs Team. I moved out to Oakland two years ago after graduating from college in New York City. I have since fallen for the plants and people that have welcomed me into the East Bay / Huchiun, Urban Adamah included. I was raised by a tightly knit, pluralistic Jewish community that laid the foundations for my love of Torah learning, mutual aid, food-focused celebrations, and Shabbos rest. To my role at Urban Adamah, I am bringing experience working in the Jewish non-profit world (Keshet, Wilderness Torah), as well as in the food and farm worlds. The things that really light my fire these days include… discussing East Bay bike routes, combatting adultism, the magic and metaphor of fermentation, fostering affirming spaces for trans people, and science fiction / fantasy.
