Hi, I’m Nicki Acland-Whear. Prior to joining Urban Adamah, I built up 25 years of experience in directing early childhood education programs. Throughout my career, I’ve been dedicated to creating environments where people can thrive—whether that’s children discovering the world, teachers nurturing growth, or teams collaborating effectively. I believe that thoughtful operations are the quiet heartbeat that makes community life sing.  As Director of Operations at Urban Adamah, I’m honored to help build and sustain the systems, structures, and processes that support the vibrant life of the farm and community. 

I’ve lived in the bay area for the last 14 years and I’m deeply connected to the rhythms and values of this place. When I’m not streamlining workflows, building infrastructure, or putting out the occasional operational fire, you might find me chasing my favorite bagel spots or singing (loudly) with my partner and Swiftie, 8 year old daughter. I am passionate about weaving Jewish identity, pride, and values into the practical work of keeping a mission-driven organization thriving.
