Hi, I’m Margalit, and I’m excited to join Urban Adamah as the Educational Programs and Farm Associate! In this role, I get to bring together my love of sustainable agriculture, outdoor education, and environmental justice — tending our urban farm, helping youth build meaningful relationships with the land and each other, and connecting cultural traditions to the seasonal and ecological rhythms of the land.

My commitment to regenerative, gratitude-based stewardship began on my family’s backyard urban farm in New York City, where I grew up tending our flock of chickens and growing food and herbs before I was tall enough to see over the tomato plants. Since then, I’ve worked across academic, governmental, and nonprofit spaces to research forest ecology and agroforestry, restore woodlands, steward community greenspaces, and support environmental education and outreach. Through it all, I’ve seen how joyful, hands-on engagement with nature can spark lifelong curiosity, connection, and care. At Urban Adamah, I’m excited to keep helping our community deepen relationships with the plants, animals, and land around us in ways that are nourishing, playful, and rooted in mutual respect.

When I’m not on the farm, you’ll probably find me singing with my choir or in a local jam, working on my latest fiber craft passion, practicing plant ID on a hike, or curled up on the couch with my roommate’s cat, Meatball.
