Bruce  is a portfolio strategist with a deep passion for organizational culture and performance.  Currently he is SVP, Program Team Leader at Nurix, a biotech company in San Francisco. Prior to Nurix, Bruce has held similar leadership roles in product development, portfolio strategy and team leadership – at Calico, Lyell and Juno. Bruce had a 12 year stint at Genentech where he led various drug development teams in immunology and respiratory disease.

Prior to biotech, Bruce was a strategy consultant at McKinsey and Company and a Medical Officer with the US Navy and the State of California Department of Health Services.

In addition to work and career, Bruce is an avid cyclist and has been actively involved as a board member and consultant with various organizations engaged in Democracy and electoral reform.

Bruce received a BS in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, an MD from NYU School of Medicine and an MPH from UC Berkeley School of Public Health. He lives in Oakland with his wife and has two young adult children living in NYC.
