Hi, I’m Arielle and I am thrilled to join Urban Adamah as the Farm and Educational Programs Manager. In this role I get to merge my passions for sustainable agriculture, land access, community education, and food equity while digging deeper into how these components relate to my Jewishness. I came to agriculture sideways – I received my BA in comparative literature and creative writing and worked in communications in the arts before attending the Farmer Training Program at the University of Vermont. Since then, I have worked as a production farmer, garden educator and manager, and program director for an environmental nonprofit. In my role at Urban Adamah, I look forward to giving community members of all ages opportunities to engage in land stewardship and to share the incomparable joy of dirty hands, tired muscles, and sun-warmed tomatoes. When I am not working with youth, managing crop plans, or fixing irrigation, you can find me traipsing through the trees with my dog, singing at the top of my lungs, and reveling in laughter surrounded by my community.
