Free Family Program Series

This year Urban Adamah is offering two different sets of FREE programs designed specifically for families with young children. Both programs give families the opportunity to experience the farm through hands-on activities that connect us to the food we eat, our bodies, Jewish values and the cycles of nature. Each program runs once a month at our new farm on 1151 6th Street in Berkeley.

Sprouts Family Days (Ages 3-5)
Family Farm Days (Ages 5+)

People from all backgrounds are welcome at Urban Adamah. A community farm inspired by Jewish values, Urban Adamah embraces diverse cultures, genders, and ways of learning designed to give families another place that feels like home.

Urban Adamah’s Family Program Series is made possible by a generous grant from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Sprouts Family Days – Monthly Sundays at 10:00 am

Sprouts Family Days: Join us for a magical journey of discovery, play and exploration on our farm. The veggies, the animals, the soil, the songs, the stories and the games – it’s like the best of Sprouts summer camp all in one morning! Bring your family down to the farm for an amazing morning and picnic lunch with other families and the Urban Adamah educators.

From 10:00-11:30 am we’ll gather and explore the farm. At 11:30 am we’ll settle in the shade and eat lunch as a community (bring your own)! For families with children 3-5 years old. If you’ve got a toddler, feel free to bring them along and explore the farm at your own pace.

Sprouts Family Days are by free, but space is very limited. Participants must register in advance to guarantee a space in the program.

Family Volunteer Days – Monthly Sundays at 2:00 pm

Family Volunteer Days: These days are great opportunities to spend quality time as a family exploring the wonders of the farm while helping grow food for those who can’t afford to buy it. Come help us care for animals, seed and sew, plant trees, build with cob, design public art pieces and more! We will introduce a different Jewish value each session and learn about it through hands on projects, games, songs, and stories. Volunteer with other families who share your passion for the outdoors and service.

We’ll work on the farm from 2:00-4:00 pm and will end with time for snacks and schmoozing. Bring your own snacks and some to share. For families with children 5 and older.

Family Volunteer Days are free, but space is very limited. Participants must register in advance to guarantee a space in the program.
