Dreaming of constructing a new backyard fence, chicken coop, or tiny house? Skill up and get your hands dirty with Urban Adamah’s Farm Carpentry course. This course is tailored to both novices and amateur DIYers, giving you the foundation and tricks of the trade to build your own custom carpentry projects at home. Experienced building professional, Bay Area carpentry teacher, and Urban Adamah’s Site Manager Matt Zimbalist will lead this hands-on workshop in building finely crafted garden benches. By the end of the half day course, you will walk away with the following building essentials: power tools, basic joinery, building sequencing, framing, layout technique, materials sourcing, and the confidence and ability to build your own home or garden carpentry or improvement project. All supplies provided. Please bring a bagged lunch.

Instructor: Matt Zimbalist
Matt serves as the Site Manager at Urban Adamah, where he has worked to develop the new 2.3 acre urban farm and retreat center in Berkeley, CA. Additionally, Matt has had a wide array of experience in agriculture and carpentry. He has worked to design and implement several school gardens in Santa Cruz, CA and worked for many years to developed a seven acre working farm residence in the Santa Cruz mountains. His carpentry experience and passion includes, but is not limited to, Timber Framing, large scale metal fabricating, furniture making, and crafting rustic farm buildings.
