Dan Bern: Live in Concert

Opening Act: Melita and Isaac Zones
Date & Time
April 16, 2016
7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

“Dan Bern strums drop-dead gorgeous melodies like a demon with his tail on fire; and expresses his love for humankind through scabrous, literary, skeptical rhymes full of hyper articulation and the tormented self-knowledge of the really, really smart.”
-Washington Post

Dan Bern: Live in Concert

A remarkably prolific songsmith, Dan has released some two dozen studio albums, EPs, and live recordings since his first acclaimed Sony-distributed CD in 1997. Dan’s songs are always literary, sometimes funny, and often cinematic. And it’s not uncommon at a Dan Bern concert to see and hear fans unabashedly singing along to one song after another with no prompting from the stage. Dan Bern recordings have featured a host of artists ranging from Ani DiFranco to Emmylou Harris, and he’s devoted entire albums to baseball (Doubleheader), politics (My Country II), and little kids (2 Feet Tall). He composed over a dozen songs for the Jake Kasdan/Judd Apatow spoof-biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and wrote the title song for Jonathan Demme’s documentary, Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains. Bern also composed songs that are included in the Judd Apatow film Get Him to the Greek, starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill.

“With his acoustic guitar and a batch of witty and insightful songs, Dan Bern is rapidly becoming the voice of a new generation of folk music.”

Wait, I Thought Your Farm Moved Already? Can You Tell Me More?

Right now Urban Adamah is in the middle of a three phase Capital Campaign. We’re raising funds to move our farm from it’s current location (1050 Parker Street) to a 2.2 acre lot in Northwest Berkeley (1151 6th Street). We began construction on 6th Street in September 2015 and originally expected to begin moving our farm in January 2016. Permit delays and the rainy winter have delayed our move until the spring. We look forward to sharing more information about our timeline as it becomes clearer. For now, all of our programs will take place at our current location, 1050 Parker Street, in Berkeley.
