June 12-16: Sprouts Farm Helpers

Entering Pre-K through Kindergarten (min. age 3 and potty trained)
Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm
$435/week, $415/week if registered before January 15th
After-Camp is available from 3–5 pm for an additional $150/week

Back by popular demand, young children can again sprout into Urban Adamah campers during our three Sprouts weeks! Sprouts campers enjoy their day exploring our working organic farm and learning how to be great helpers to the crops, animals and each other. With Jewish teachings and stories guiding their experience, Sprouts week introduces young children to Judaism’s deep connections to the natural world and their place in it. Special features of Sprouts week include:

•  Farm-to-fork harvesting and cooking for young chefs
•  Caring for animals: goats, chickens, worms and more
•  Sensory-rich activities including mud-building, bug hunts, and nature crafts
•  Relaxation time with stories, movement and music in the yurt

Families asked for it and we said yes! In this two-week session, your young camper can dive further into their learning journey with their same kvutsah (group) and counselor, deepening their connections and creative projects.  Sprouts campers enjoy their day exploring our working organic farm and learning how to be great helpers to the crops, animals and each other. July 10–14: A Taste of Farm Life 

Rising 1st through 5th graders
Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm
$435/week, $415/week if registered before January 15th
After-Camp is available from 3–5 pm for an additional $150/week

Come to the farm for a week of hands-on activities and learn what it means to be an urban farmer. Explore what’s growing right here in the city, and how we turn an urban lot into a thriving vegetable and fruit garden. Plant seeds, harvest vegetables, get to know the chickens and prepare tasty snacks from food you harvest. Special projects for the week include:

•  Seed Saving and planting seeds
•  Harvesting to support our free food farm stand
•  Helping our worms create rich soil
•  Turning wheat into bread and other farm-to-fork activities


July 17–21: Earth Builders 

Rising 1st through 5th graders
Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm
$435/week, $415/week if registered before January 15th
After-Camp is available from 3–5 pm for an additional $150/week

Wear your overalls and boots, and get ready for some serious earthy fun in this hands-on week focusing on earth building. We will use the natural materials of the Bay Area to make all kinds of interesting and beautiful creations, some of which you can take home. Special projects for the week:

•  Building forts with cob and other natural materials
•  Creating worm composting bins
•  Making recycled, plantable paper
•  Crafting your own earthenware pottery


July 24 –28: Farm Detectives – ONLY SEVERAL SPACES LEFT!

Rising 1st through 5th graders
Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm

This week is co-sponsored by Congregation Beth Israel and is under strict kosher supervision.

San Francisco Shuttle: This week Urban Adamah is offering daily transportation to/from San Francisco for an additional $50/week. Campers who sign-up for the SF Shuttle must also register for After-Camp. Please refer to transportation details on our FAQ page.

Discover the secrets of the many animals that call Urban Adamah home—from chickens and red-wiggler worms, to insect pollinators and pests. Explore their habitats and find out how the health of our human community is connected to the health of the community of animals around us. Each day we will investigate something new, and have time for nature play, crafts and games. Special projects for the week:

•  Bug hunts
•  Predator and prey games
•  Following clues to find hidden treasures
•  Animal habitats and terrarium making

There’s nothing tastier than a meal made with fresh ingredients, and the meals that our garden chefs prepare couldn’t be any fresher or yummier! Harvest veggies and herbs from our diverse crops to make delicious meals from scratch. Learn how to prepare food with our fun and creative outdoor cooking techniques. We will pick, prepare and – best of all – eat! Some of the activities budding chefs will experience include:

•  Hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz (making bread from scratch)
•  Cooking with fire, fire-building and mud ovens
•  Wild fermentation: making pickles and sauerkraut
•  Salads, smoothies, jam-making and more


August 14–18 and August 22–26: Global Village (Two-Week Session)

Come discover your gifts to the world, whether you’re an artist, a music-maker, a farmer, a crafter, or cook. From building with natural materials to growing food and making art, you will experience fun earth-friendly crafting projects that are sure to delight all of your senses. For inspiration, we will also explore the diverse origin stories of our favorite foods, crafts, and family trees. Taste the power of community as our projects and friendship help us build a Global Village. In this two-week session, you’ll get to deepen your camp journey and take your projects, new skills, and friendships to a whole new level. Special projects for the week include:

•  Creating an earth-friendly, multicultural, edible, vibrant village
•  Fort-building with natural materials
•  Natural tie dye and basket-making
•  Earth medicines: concocting herbal teas and balms
•  Cooking for our weekly Free Farm Stand


After-Camp Program

Urban Adamah offers an After-Camp Program extended day option (3–5 pm) for all camp weeks. Staffed by our Urban Adamah Camp counselors, After-Camp offers a relaxed farm experience at the end of the camp day. Each day, campers will be provided a snack and will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, creative farm projects and quiet-time activities.
