Participating in the Urban Adamah Fellowship ignited Stephanie with a passion for growing food and a curiosity around sustainable food systems. After completing the fellowship, she continued her farming journey as an apprentice at Calypso Farm and Ecology Center in Ester, Alaska in 2012. At Calypso, Stephanie gained hands on experience working on a three acre no-till farm that grew vegetables for their CSA and local markets. She also WWOOF’ed at Durga Farms in Hawaii, a farm housed on an Ayurveda and Yoga center. Stephanie adopted Yoga and Ayurvedic living into her lifestyle.
Stephanie returned home to Minnesota in 2013 and started Muddy Feet Farm. Muddy Feet Farm is currently a one acre, no-till vegetable farm that provides Traditional and Ayurveda CSA shares to 50 CSA members. After being lead farmer at Muddy Feet for some time, Stephanie became a certified Yoga instructor, and since then has worked as the behind-the-scenes business lady of the farm, focusing on CSA recruitment, payments, and the business aspects of the farm. This allows her time to teach Yoga, study Ayurveda, and work in her home garden. Stephanie hired the wonderful Kelsey Fitzgerald as Farm Manager in 2015 to run all aspects of the daily farm work.
