Group and Public Programs

Group Experiential Education Programs

Urban Adamah offers educational programs at our farm site in Berkeley at low or no cost to interested Bay Area community and school groups. Programs always integrate hands-on work on the farm with age appropriate teaching about sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. For Jewish students and community groups, Urban Adamah educators weave aspects of Jewish tradition, values, and ritual into the environmental teaching and farming experience.

To book a program for your group, please email us. Group programs are now being scheduled starting in June. Children ages 5 – 12 may also join us for one of our summer camp programs starting this summer.

Volunteer Work Days

Urban Adamah offers opportunities for members of the community to work on the farm. To volunteer please contact our farm manager Tali Weinberg.

Jewish Festival Celebrations

Urban Adamah will run community-wide celebrations at the Berkeley farm site for each of Judaism’s three major agricultural festivals: Passover (April), Shavout (May) and Sukkot (October). Celebrations will be held in conjunction with other local Bay Area Jewish institutions and will include activities geared for adults and children of all ages. Our first celebration will take place for the holiday of Sukkot on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Check back here for details next August.
