Dressing in costume is really fun! And in the spirit of awareness and respect we encourage people to dress in culturally appropriate costumes. Not confident in assessing whether or not your costume is culturally appropriate and respectful? Here’s an article to get you thinking. Thank you in advance for being mindful and we hope you enjoy this year’s celebration. Chag Sameach!
Pre-Party Family Friendly Puppet Show and Costume Parade
At 6:00 pm join us for a special family friendly Purim Puppet Show. Jen Miriam and her puppets join together to tell the heroic story of Queen Ester. Watch as Ester saves the day, Vahsti leads the women in a Zumba class, Mordechai performs his hit single “Mordechai wont bow down”, and Haman’s inner process is revealed while the King is busy planning epic parties. People of all ages will love this epic multi-media puppet show. Don your best purim costume and afterwards we will parade through the farm and enjoy some fresh hamentashen from Grand Bakery!

Wait, I thought your farm moved already? Can you update me about this?
Right now Urban Adamah is in the middle of a three phase Capital Campaign. We’re raising funds to move our farm from it’s current location (1050 Parker Street) to a 2.2 acre lot in Northwest Berkeley (1151 6th Street). We began construction on 6th Street in September 2015 and originally expected to begin moving our farm in January 2016. Permit delays and the rainy winter have delayed our move until the spring. We look forward to sharing more information about our timeline as it becomes clearer. For now, all of our programs will take place at our current location, 1050 Parker Street, in Berkeley.
